AND PEOPLE IS KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR ASKING FOR MONEY BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ANY GAS.

AND THEY IN THE DRIVEWAY.

ALSO I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE TENANTS, OPENING UP THE DOORS, LETTING DIFFERENT PEOPLE COME IN.

THEY WERE ASKED FOR A CERTAIN PERSON.

THEY WOULD JUST COME UP AND THEY WOULD GIVE THEM THEIR KEY AND LET THEM IN THE BUILDING.

SO IF THEY DOES THAT, WHO KNOWS WHO THESE PEOPLE COMING IN THIS BUILDING TO HURT.

IF THESE PEOPLE ARE COMING TO VISIT SOMEONE, WE ARE TO ASK THEM TO CALL THE PERSON AND THAT THE PERSON DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE OR COME DOWNSTAIRS.

WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MET THEM IN THAT BUILDING FOR OUR OWN SECURITY.

UM, I'LL BE GONE UP DOWN TO PEOPLE, APARTMENT.

I DON'T HAVE ANY AIR CONDITIONING THEM.

NOW, I WAS TOLD TO MAKE A REPORT ON THIS ONE GENTLEMAN AND I DID, AND I GAVE IT TO THE MANAGEMENT.

I HEARD NOTHING ELSE ABOUT THAT.

SO HE KEPT ON GOING WITH IT.

SO HE CALLED SOMEONE DOWNTOWN AND HE HAD RESTED THEM, WHICH WAS MS. WARREN, A PROBATION OFFICER.

AND SHE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME, SHE SAID, YOU NEED TO GO TO THE MAGIC STREET IMMEDIATELY.

I, I I'M BEVERLY FISHER.

I WAS UPSTAIRS ON THE THIRD FLOOR AT THE TIME I CALLED MS. TASHI LAST YEAR AND NOVEMBER.

AND I TOLD HER, THIS GUY WAS IN THIS WOMAN APARTMENT.

AND SHE WAS BEING ROBBED.

TASHA WAS ON THE PHONE.

WHEN I TOLD HIM, I SAID, YOU NEED TO COME OUT AND DEAL BECAUSE SHE WAS UNCONSCIOUS.

SHE HAD A, SHE HAD A SUGAR COMA.

SHE WENT INTO A SHELL, A DIABETIC COMA, AND HE STAYED IN THERE.

AND WHEN THE POLICE CAME, HE LEFT AND WHEN HE CAME OUT, HE HAD HER MEDICATION AND HOW HER, HER THING IN HIS HAND, WHERE HE TOOK HER MONEY FROM AROUND HER NECK, I TOLD THE POLICE, I SAID, STOP HIM AND SEARCH HIM AND GET WHATEVER HE GOT.

THE POLICE DIDN'T DO IT.

SO AFTER HE WENT TO HIS APARTMENT, HE CAME BACK AND TOLD THE POLICE.

HE WANTED TO CHANGE.

HE WANTED THE KEYS AND THE POLICE.

THEY KNOW I BETTER KEEP THE KEYS.

AFTER SHE DID COME BACK HOME, THEY GOT HER TO BREATHE IN AGAIN.

SHE CAME HOME AND SHE TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED.

I GAVE HER MONEY A HUNDRED DOLLARS TO GET HER PILLS OR PAIN MEDICINE BACK.

I HELPED HER.

SHE WENT IN, TOOK A ONE OUT ON THIS GENTLEMAN.

SHE HAD A HEART ATTACK IN THE COURTHOUSE.

SHE DIED A WEEK BEFORE TRIAL.

CAUSE THE DA PUT IT TO BIG COURT.

HE DIDN'T ROB THIS WOMAN, KNOWING THE COX HE'D BEEN PICKING WITH ME EVERY TIME.

HEY, SO I TOOK A ONE OUT OF THEM.

SO THE PROBATION OFFICER, MS. WARREN SAID, BEVERLY, JUST SKY, AIN'T PLAYING WITH YOU.

AND HE CALLED AGAIN THIS MONTH ON THE 10TH AND SENT HER, OH, YOU TOLD HER TO TAKE HER ONE OUT ON ME.

SHE SAID THAT THEY JUST STAY AWAY FROM YOU.

I MEAN, YOU SOUND CRAZY.

NOW THERE'S OTHER TENANTS IN THIS BUILDING.

THERE WAS A WHOLE LOT OF STUFF GOING IN THIS BUILDING.

I DON'T WORK THERE.

Y'ALL HAVE PEOPLE.

THEY HAVE PEOPLE WORKING IN THIS BUILDING FOR SECURITY, BUT I GET STUCK THROUGH THE NIGHT AND I WATCH, I RIDE THE ELEVATORS.

I EVEN PUT MY BAG ON MY SHOULDER AND I WALK AROUND THE BUILDING.

THERE'LL BE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, OVER THERE BY THE WATER FOR A SECOND.

I'M TRYING TO ASK FOR TIME.

AND SO, UM, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I WANTED TO DO WAS A NIGHTLY CURFEW TO GET THE, UH, PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING.

AND I THINK SOME PEOPLE GOT UPSET ABOUT THE CURFEW THAT WAS MENTIONED THAT THE CURRY WAS MENTIONED TO ME BY THE RESIDENTS THAT I HAD MET WITH, BUT THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'LL BE PUTTING IN PLACE.

AND I ALSO SPOKE WITH CHIEF GALLAGHER THIS MORNING, AND I HAVE A MEETING WITH HIM, UM, TOMORROW AT THREE O'CLOCK WITH HIM AND HIS STAFF TO DISCUSS, UM, EXTRA DUTY AT THE TOWERS AND ALSO EXTRA PATROLLING.

UH, HIS STAFF HAVE ACCESS TO OUR BUILDINGS SO THAT THEY'RE ABLE TO GO INSIDE THE BUILDING.

AND, UM, AND SO WE COULD HAVE A OFFICER, UM, SCHEDULED FOR, UM, YOU KNOW, TO SPEND SEVERAL HOURS AT THE PROPERTY EACH DAY.

AND, UM, WE'RE ALSO GONNA MEET WITH, UM, NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION SO THAT THEY CAN, UM, COME OUT TO THE PROPERTY AS WELL TO ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES, UM, THAT SHE'S SPEAKING OF.

SO, UM, W WE ARE GOING TO, UM, GET POLICE PRESENCE INCREASED AT THE TOWER.

SO YOU SHOULD EXPECT TO SEE THAT I HAVE ONE MORE THING.

I THINK AS HOUSING AUTHORITY COMMISSIONERS, WE HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY RESIDENT HAS A SAFE HOME CAN WELL, UH, TO, TO BE HAPPY TO BE AT THEIR HOME.

AND WE, AS OVERSEERS OF THAT PROPERTY SHOULD DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT IS ESTABLISHED.

THAT'S WHAT THEY PAY US FOR WHEN THEY RENT OUR, OUR, OUR, UH, PLACES.

SO I DON'T THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO POLICE.

AND THE MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR THAT STARTED TODAY, THAT'S PART OF HIS RESPONSIBILITY IS TO RECEIVE THOSE WORK ORDERS FROM THE MANAGERS AND THEN GIVE THEM TO THE STAFF OR FIX THEM, UM, AS HE SEES FIT, CAUSE HE MAY HAVE TO FIX SOME OF THOSE THINGS.

AND, UM, I'M EXCITED BECAUSE OUR NEW HIRE IS TRAINED TO FIX, UM, THE P-TECH, UM, UNITS, WHICH ARE THE AIR CONDITIONING.

SO HE'S HAD THAT TRAINING TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT.

SO MORE THAN LIKELY HE'S GOING TO BE THE ONE THAT, UH, WHO REPAIRED THOSE UNITS AS FAR AS ORDERING THE PARTS.

UM, I THINK THESE AIR CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN OUT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW, BEFORE MY HIRE, NOT SURE WHO PURCHASED THE PARTS, SO WHO ORDERED THE PARTS FOR, BUT ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I DID TALK TO HIM ABOUT WAS THE FACT THAT WE HAD SOME OUT AND, YOU KNOW, AND HE CAN ASSESS THOSE UNITS AND DETERMINE WHETHER THE PARTS THAT WE ACTUALLY ORDERED OR THE RIGHT PARTS THAT WE NEED, OR IF HE COULD FIX THEM, YOU KNOW, WITH WHAT WE HAVE NOW.
