THE CITY ATTORNEY IS, UM, THAT WE'VE BEEN VERY CONSERVATIVE IN THAT APPROACH, BUT WE FEEL THAT IT WILL SEND A SIGNAL ALSO THAT THE CITY IS SERIOUS ABOUT PRESERVING A HOUSING STOCK AND NOT JUST TEARING DOWN HOUSES OR TURNING THEM DOWN TO HAVE THEM REPLACED.

UM, SECOND HANDLE THAT WE'RE SERIOUS ABOUT PRESERVING OUR TAX BASE FOR THE FUTURE, WHICH IS ONE THING WE HAVE TO BE CONCERNED WITH.

WELL, I THINK THE CITY HAS DEMONSTRATED THAT IN ITS EFFORTS, ON BEHALF OF THE BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM, THE MONEY WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO PUT IN TO RENOVATING THE SUBSTANDARD HOUSING.

SO THERE IS THIS AFFORDABLE HOUSING AVAILABLE PLUS GREEN PARK PARENTS ARE, THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT WE'RE WORKING ON ALONG THE SAME LINES.

SO I DON'T THINK THE CITY HAS TO BEAUTY AND TRY TO USE EVERY AVAILABLE AVENUE FOR PROVIDING AFFORDABLE AND SAFE.
